Aphrodite, my dearest epitome of springtime,
Quaffing flowery flares as your dark storm clouds climb
Selfish vanities flooding April's chromaticity out
Ere Apollo's hideous glare shines your May bleached with drought

The golden summer that Ra mercilessly allows
Oppressing heat beats the precious sweat off of your brow
For every child caught giggling with sunlight in their lungs
Another meets black Anubis with thirst on their tongues

As Morigan's autumn, swift as the crow flies
Allowing leaves to stop their begging to die
Knowing change is welcome, killing all she holds dear
Until even Bile`'s cold grasp starts shaking with fear

Loki breathes laughter with a wintery chill
Freezing time with a blanket and life going still
His mischievous snowflakes dancing o'er the land
Until they are melted by Freyja’s impassioned hand
My take on representations of different ancient civilizations and the seasons I relate each one respectively to.

For more of my work, see the attached poems:

StreetwalkerGlamorous needles and lives behind dumpsters
Hunger wafting on whispers of con-men and tramps
Vegabond royalty, demented and toothless
Barking for pennies, with itches and cramps
And when the streetlamp stops glinting, the streetwalker crawls
Cigarrette painted nails and mascara black sight
Dangling a forbidden fruit by her cherry
A queen with a garter, flirting with the night
We swing and we juve, sipping on the nectar
Of moonlit moonshine and the apples most bruised
A dollar a dance, a dime for a tickle,
Feasting on life in the world we refused
Only God Can Judge UsLeft and right, girls shouting at the top of their lungs,
“Only God can judge us”
Before lighting up or smearing makeup heavy on their faces
for the eyes of insecure teenage boys to judge for themselves

When a brain or a a mind is in question, they look the other way,
But when penetration of beauty is put on the line,
The girls come to bat, ready to swing at whoever they can
A sign tattooed across their exposed legs
Etched in self-inflicted cuts and eyeliner
Because that is all they feel they could ever be.

You are much more than a superficial commodity
You are priceless, inside and out
Attempted Repentance of the SnakeThe small mouse, lovingly betrayed
By his immortal spot in the food chain
Waits for his death, as we all do.
Tired of running from the starry night's cue
It comes quick as the light leaving his eyes
Fangs a venomous thorn in his side
A poison black but numbingly sweet
His frenzied fears can rest in peace
The viper hisses apologies
While the rodent whimpers, appreciative of light
The slithering savage swallows his feast
The ball of soft fur, in the belly of the beast

The serpent, after licking the apple,
Repents and sheds to be renewed
But the blood of mice has ensnared his fancy
Choked with urges he can't elude
He leaves behind his molted s

Nice way of integrating pagan deities from different cultures into a beautiful poem that brings them together as a metaphor of passing seasons. I love it!
